This tutorial explains how to remove the starter motor in the Volkswagen Golf, a very straightforward task. Before proceeding, open the bonnet and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety. Go underneath the vehicle and locate the starter motor on the left side. Using a 13mm socket, remove the lower mounting bolt. Next, disconnect the power leads, remove the upper mounting bolt, and separate the starter motor from the wall. To install the replacement, simply follow the reverse procedure.
