To remove the headrest from a Volkswagen Passat, you need to detach the plastic cover at the base of the rod supporting the headrest: once this cover is removed, you will find a button underneath that must be held down while lifting the headrest. Once it is lifted, you can pull it completely out of its housing. This way, you can insert the supports of the new headrest into the backrest, adjusting it according to your needs.
