Volkswagen Polo - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Polo
Polo 4, MK 4, Polo IV, 9N, MK IV
- Years 2001-2009 In this video, we see how to replace the timing chain of a Volkswagen Polo 9N 1.2, engine code BMD; first, we need to remove the air filter, the engine cover, and the anti-castro protection. Then the right wheel arch lining, the poly-v belt, the alternator, and the climate compressor (but it is not necessary to disconnect the pipes). We will need to adjust the timing by removing the camshaft sensor and the RPM sensor. We rotate the engine until we find the groove where we can insert the locking tool. If the chain to be replaced has already stretched, it is necessary to redo the timing before proceeding with the replacement. We remove the crankshaft pulley, then the oil pan, and finally the distribution box cover. We remove the oil pump chain by first removing the tensioner, then the distribution chain, pressing the guide against the oil damper and locking it with an Allen wrench. Now we reassemble the new parts starting with the pulley, then we tension the chain by removing the Allen wrench that we had previously put. Before reassembling the engine, we clean it well and close it by applying a sealant approved by the manufacturer.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHandbrake adjustment on Ford EcosportFirst remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base. by ScegliAuto More videos
