How to Remove the Ignition Switch from the Volkswagen Golf?

To remove the ignition switch from the Volkswagen Golf, you need to loosen the screws that secure the plastic covers around the steering column: once these covers are removed, you can loosen the screws that secure the ignition switch in its housing, disconnecting all the relevant connectors as well. At this point, you can insert the new ignition switch into its housing, connect the connectors, and secure it with its screws; finally, you can cover everything with the appropriate plastic covers.
