- Years 2007-2016 In order to replace the rear door lock of the Volkswagen Tiguan, you need to loosen the screws that secure the interior trim panel located inside the door. Once this panel is freed from its housing, you will be able to locate the screws that secure the door lock from the inside. The lock can then be completely released by unscrewing the screws and disconnecting the power cables. Now it will be possible to insert the new lock, ensuring that it is properly secured and connected to the appropriate cables.
