This tutorial shows how to replace the battery in the remote for the Volkswagen Passat, a very simple and quick operation. For this, you will need a replacement battery of type CR2032 and a small flat-head screwdriver. First, press the button on the left side and extract the emergency key. Then, push the upper metal lock sideways and separate it from the rest of the remote. At this point, lever along the indicated slot, unlock the cover, and remove the old battery. To reassemble, simply follow the reverse procedure.
