Replacing the Key Fob Battery on a Volkswagen Passat

Today, you will learn how to remove and replace the battery in the key fob of a Volkswagen Passat. First, remove the key from the fob by pressing the button. Then, remove the top cover of the fob and use a very thin plastic lever or a flat screwdriver to open the fob in two, allowing access to the inside. Next, remove the old battery and replace it with a new one of the correct type (usually a 2032). Now insert the battery in the correct orientation and reassemble the two halves of the fob!
