As shown in this tutorial, replacing the remote battery on a Volkswagen Passat is an extremely simple and quick operation. You will need a replacement CR2032 battery and, if necessary, a small flat-head screwdriver. First, press the button on the left side of the remote, then extract the emergency key, push the metal part outwards, and disengage it. Next, lever along the indicated slot, separate the two halves, and remove the old battery from the housing. To reassemble, simply follow the reverse procedure.
