The operation of replacing the timing belt on the Volkswagen Up is carried out by opening the hood, so that access can be gained to the components located inside the engine compartment: on the left side of the latter, the side cover of the engine can be identified, which must be detached by loosening the fastening screws. In this way, the underlying belt can be identified, which can be extracted by sliding the tensioner roller; at this point, it will be possible to insert the new belt around the pulleys, reinsert the tensioner roller, and verify the functioning of the engine.

How to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video.
