To replace the gear knob on a Volkswagen Golf, use a tool to lever off the clips located at the base of the leather cover: once the cover is lifted, you can detach the hook found underneath the cover, between it and the knob. Then, remove the old knob and the corresponding cover, and insert the new replacement part.

After the replacement, reattach the knob and the clips at the base of the cover.
