This tutorial shows you how to remove the steering wheel in a Volkswagen Crafter van, a very simple and quick operation. Before proceeding, open the engine compartment and disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid accidental airbag deployment.

Start by turning the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left, then locate the hole at the back of the wheel. Using a flathead screwdriver, unlock the airbag retaining clip.

Next, remove the airbag from its housing, disconnect the connector, and unscrew the large central bolt with an XZN socket.
