How to replace the water pump on a Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDi?

To replace the water pump on a Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDi, loosen the screws securing the protective panel on the left side of the engine block. Beneath it, you will find the timing belt around the corresponding pulleys.

Once the central nut of the tensioner roller is loosened, reduce the tension on the belt and also loosen the nut on the pump pulley. By removing this pulley, the underlying pump can be freed from its housing, allowing you to replace it with a new spare part and reassemble all previously removed components.
