How do we change the battery of the key fob for our Volkswagen Golf? Let’s see in this detailed video how to do it. Take your remote and press the release button of the metal key. Once the metal key is open, use a screwdriver to pry between the key casing and the top plastic cover (the groove where the metal key fits). Pry until the cover opens. Remove the worn battery with a screwdriver, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Refit the cover on your remote by pressing on the key casing until you hear it click into place. Check the proper functioning of the remote.
