Today's steps will show you how to remove and replace the thermostat on a Volkswagen Golf 1.6 16V, following the instructions below. First, open the bonnet and start by disconnecting the radiator hose, allowing the coolant to drain into a container; then disconnect the hose from the thermostat and unscrew its fixing bolts to detach and remove it, as shown in the video.

At this point, install the new original thermostat, securing it properly and making the various connections; then top up with the new coolant!
