Front Shock Absorber Removal

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the wheel corresponding to the suspension you need to work on.
Open the bonnet and, after lubricating with appropriate spray, loosen the four nuts securing the shock absorber mount (comprising the damper and spring) using a 13 mm socket.
Before continuing with the suspension disassembly, it is advisable to remove the brake caliper and brake disc for better manoeuvrability.
Using a 17 mm socket, loosen the nut securing the drop link to the shock absorber, then, while holding the drop link ball joint pin with a 6 mm Allen key, complete the removal of the 17 mm nut with a socket spanner.
At this point, using a 19 mm socket, remove the bolts securing the shock absorber to the hub mount, extract the bolts, and then slide out the shock absorber.
If you need to replace the damper or mount, compress the spring with appropriate clamps, remove the central nut located at the top of the damper piston, and extract the plate (or mount); slide the spring onto the new damper, reposition the mount, tighten the nut, and release the clamps to reposition the spring.
Proceed to install the shock absorber by inserting the 4 captive bolts of the mount into the appropriate holes in the bodywork and tighten the corresponding locking nuts.
Reinstall the 2 bolts securing the shock absorber to the hub mount and adequately tighten the two 19 mm nuts, followed by the 4 nuts of 13 mm on the mount.
Install the drop link (to tighten the 17 mm nut, always hold the ball joint pin with the 6 mm Allen key).
Finally, reinstall the brake disc and caliper, and then the wheel.
