Replacing the Engine Air Filter

Replacing the air filter on the Volvo XC90 is a simple and quick task that doesn't require any tools. The filter box is easily accessible in the front left corner of the engine bay. To open it and access the filter, disconnect the electrical connector from the mass air flow sensor and unclip the three metal clips along the edges of the box. In this video, the filter was replaced with a washable type so it doesn't need to be replaced, only cleaned periodically. When reassembling the cover of the box, first ensure the back is seated properly, then the rest. Make sure the box is closed correctly, reconnect the mass air flow sensor, and you're done.
