Removing the Cabin Air Filter

Model: Volvo S70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000

To remove the cabin air filter, located inside the engine bay on the passenger side, unscrew and remove the cover at the base of the windscreen. Three screws must be removed, and the tube that ends on the cover should be disconnected. Once the cover is pulled away, access to the cabin air filter is gained. This operation should be repeated for cleaning or replacement at every service, as the cover acts as a collection basin and can trap dirt that would hinder the filter's effectiveness.
