Replacing Spark Plugs and Connectors

Model: Volvo S60 MK 1 - Years 2000-2009

To replace the spark plugs, remove the rear engine cover by unscrewing the perimeter screws and the timing belt cover. After removing the covers, disconnect the connectors and unscrew the bolts that hold them to the cylinder head, then pull them out. Using the appropriate wrench, unscrew the spark plugs. Before installing the new spark plugs, it is good practice to lubricate the threads with grease. Once the new spark plugs are installed, also install the new connectors: the old ones may show wear or damage on the connection tabs that prevent proper functioning. After installing the new connectors, connect them to the wires and reinstall the covers.
