The method for replacing the remote control batteries of the Volvo V40 is identical to that of the XC60, C40, and other similar models. The type of battery to use in this remote is CR2450: this is a button battery that is slightly larger than the standard size. Start by sliding down the spring-loaded button located at the bottom of the remote while simultaneously pulling out the emergency blade, as shown in the video. Use the back of the blade to lever and open the remote. Now that the battery is exposed, remove it and replace it with the new one, then close the remote again and reposition the emergency blade.
