How to Replace the Remote Battery on a Volvo V40 Mk2

This guide shows how to replace the remote battery on a Volvo V40 Mk2. The first step is to slide out the physical key using the release lever on the back of the device. At this point, using a small flathead screwdriver, release the catch of the physical key again and pry in the gap created to lift the rear cover of the remote, opening both halves. Replace the old battery with a CR2430 button cell. Reassemble everything in position and check the proper functioning of the keys.
