Replacing the Suspension Control Arm Ball Joint

Model: Volvo Xc90 MK 1 - Years 2002-2014

The ball joint of the suspension control arm is not integrated into the arm itself but is attached to the hub via a plate that serves as a support. Therefore, you can replace it without changing the entire arm. Lift the vehicle on the lift and remove the front wheel for easier access to the ball joint. Next, remove the fastening pins of the ball joint plate to the hub and the nut that secures the ball joint to the control arm. Use a fork puller to remove the ball joint from the control arm and proceed in reverse to install the new one.
