To replace the rear brake pads on the Volvo V40, you need to lift the car so that the corresponding rear wheel is not in contact with the ground. Therefore, you will need to unscrew the wheel fixing bolts, completely removing the wheel to access the brake caliper at the rear. The bolts securing the brake caliper must be loosened so that the pads inside can be extracted and replaced with a new part; after replacement, you can refit the caliper onto the disc, also mounting the corresponding wheel.
