How to disassemble the ignition cylinder of the Audi A6

Model: Audi A6 MK 2, C5 - Years 1997-2004

Following these brief and simple steps, we will see how to disassemble and replace the ignition cylinder of the Audi A6. First, we get into the car and start by removing the central cover of the dashboard; it will be necessary to then remove the steering wheel and its airbag, disconnecting the electrical connector and unscrewing the central screw. At this point, we remove the steering column cover and disconnect the electrical connector of the cylinder; then we remove the cylinder and replace it with the new original one, consequently also replacing the ignition key.

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands, remove the front wheels, and then the front bumper and grille. Proceed to remove the front headlights; drain the coolant, remove the intercooler radiator and the hoses connecting it to the intake system.
