Replacing the lock of the left front door of the Audi A3 is a simple and quick operation that can be done independently. To carry out the replacement, it is necessary to remove the door panel and then unscrew the two side screws of the opening mechanism. We disconnect the internal lever of the mechanism to extract the entire wiring of the lock; then we insert the new mechanism inside the door and connect the internal lever of the mechanism to make it operational. We screw in the two side screws of the opening mechanism and test the lock's operation before reassembling the panel. If the opening and closing work correctly during assembly, we can attach the door panel.
