How to Replace the Driver's Door Lock on an Audi A4 B8

This guide shows how to replace the door lock on an Audi A4 B8. The first step is to remove the trim plate of the handle using two plastic pry tools; at this point, you can remove the plastic shell located under the armrest. Using a wrench, remove the mounting bolts of the panel to take it off the door; during this operation, it's necessary to remove the plastic clips. Disconnect the electrical wires and the handle, then move the panel aside. Remove the plastic panel that provides access to the inside of the door and, from that side, remove the mounting screw for the lock. Take out the lock cylinder and the outer handle. Unscrew the mounting screws of the lock assembly and pull it out; detach the power cable and the internal handle cable. Replace it with a new lock and reattach the screws you removed. At this point, simply follow the steps in reverse to reassemble all the removed parts. Check the proper functioning of the lock before hitting the road.
