Disassembly for Fuel Pump Replacement

If you have problems with the fuel pump, make sure to have the tank nearly empty before starting the work, as on this type of car, any fuel beyond half a tank could spill out. As you can see, the gauge indicates that the tank is empty. For safety, it is better to disconnect the battery to avoid any short circuits. Now lift the rear seat, which is secured with two clips on each side. Before completely removing the seat, disconnect the electrical connectors. Once the seat is removed, unscrew the three screws of the cover as shown in the video. Be very careful now when disconnecting the fuel line. This operation should preferably be done with special pliers to release the clip. Now rotate the ring as shown, using a hammer and screwdriver for assistance. Remove the ring, the support, and then the pump using the appropriate tool that should be inserted around the pump. With the tool attached to the pump, rotate it half a turn and pull it out. Clean the mounting area before reinstalling the new one. Remove any debris or deposits that may be present at the bottom of the tank. Insert the replacement pump, ensuring the mounting pins are properly aligned. Secure it firmly with the special tool. Install the new gasket, which should always be replaced when changing the pump. Secure the cover with the ring after aligning it in its position. Reinsert the fuel line and the electrical connector, snapping them into place. Now perform a few starts to allow the fuel to reach the engine, eliminating any air bubbles present in the fuel system. Reinstall the seat after reconnecting the wires. Note that it is good practice to also replace the fuel filter after changing the fuel pump.
