Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Position the vehicle on appropriate car ramps to facilitate access under the hood: Place a drain pan directly under the oil pan drain plug to catch the used oil and remove the plug. As the oil drains, locate the oil filter cartridge and unscrew it (some oil may also come out here). Apply clean oil to the gasket of the new filter and install it by hand (it is not necessary to fill the new filter with oil). Then, screw the plug back into the oil pan and fill the engine with new oil until it reaches the correct level: To check the level, keep the vehicle on a level surface.
