Operation: How to replace oil and oil filter on AUDI A4 B8 manual gearbox

After lifting the engine compartment lid, we have to lift the engine block lid which can be removed very easily because it is pressurized. Changing the filter, in addition to the oil, it is always recommended to have clean oil and a new filter, so that the engine runs optimally. It is advisable to use an additive to add to the old oil; the engine will be run for about fifteen minutes, in order to allow the additive to liquefy the old oil as much as possible: in this way it will come off better, leaving the engine clean. To change the oil, it is necessary to operate from underneath the car and therefore the lower cover must be removed, which protects the engine from mud, water, stones, etc. It is easily removed using the 11 external screws, with a Phillips screwdriver. To remove the oil sump plug instead, you need a 19 mm socket wrench and it is positioned laterally on the sump. It is advisable to change the bolt you remove from the oil pan with a new one. Drain the oil - which you will then dispose of at authorized centers - into a special container. As the oil drains, we can change the oil filter; remove the oil filler cap to facilitate oil drainage. Let's go back to the engine compartment: to unscrew the oil filter cap you need a size 32 socket wrench with extension. We remove it by wrapping it in a rag so as not to dirty the engine. We remove the old filter from its cap - just pull - and remove the old gaskets from the cap and the support rod. Reposition the new gaskets and then the new filter (the part with the writing goes towards the cap) Tighten it and push until you feel it blocked and reinsert it in its compartment and then tighten the cap again with the 32 compass. Pass a hand around the cap to make sure the gasket has not curled out, which would allow the oil to escape, causing serious damage. Now let's go back under the engine, and reposition the new bolt with its washer to the oil pan; reassemble the engine compartment cover with its 11 screws, and now we are ready to pour the new oil. You can check the oil level from the on-board computer, but it takes about 5 litres. Close the oil cap well, and reposition the cover by pressing on the four corners. The last thing to do now is to reset the service by going to control unit n. 17, function 10 which is that of the adaptations, and from channel 02 set the value "or" save and reset the message. The job is done.
