How to Activate the Cruise Control on the Audi A4

To activate the cruise control on the Audi A4, use the lever on the left side of the steering wheel, located below the turn signal lever. Press the button on the left side of the lever to turn on the cruise control; this will illuminate the indicator light on the instrument panel, and the car will maintain the speed you are traveling at. To increase or decrease the cruise speed, move the lever up (to increase speed) or down (to decrease speed); the instrument panel display will show the speed increasing or decreasing. If there is a car in front and you want to overtake, simply press the accelerator pedal, and the car will speed up, then return to the previously set speed. If you need to brake or slow down, press the brake pedal; in this case, the cruise control will pause. To reactivate it, pull the lever towards you, and it will return to the previously set speed. If the car downshifts while slowing down (only with automatic transmission vehicles), re-engaging the cruise at the previously set speed will automatically upshift. You can also pause it by pulling the lever towards the dashboard. To completely deactivate the cruise control, press the lever towards the dashboard until you hear a click and the lever returns to its original position. After completely deactivating the cruise control, you can return the lever to its original position, but the cruise will remain off, and the indicator light on the dashboard will turn off. This operation should preferably be performed on high-speed roads, maintaining attention while driving.
