How to Replace the Engine RPM Sensor on an Audi A4 B6 1.8T

This guide shows how to replace the engine RPM sensor on an Audi A4 B6 with a 1.8T engine. The first step is to remove the coolant reservoir from its position by unscrewing the mounting screw. At this point, three connectors are visible at the back of the engine compartment; disconnect the gray central wire. The sensor is located behind the engine oil filter housing. Use a 5 mm hex key or a 10 mm wrench to unscrew the sensor's mounting bolt. Install the new sensor and reassemble everything in place. Check that the engine starts correctly.
