To replace the heater core in the cabin of an Audi A4, you must completely disassemble the dashboard. Start by removing the steering wheel and its airbag.

By unscrewing the bolts at the back of the steering wheel, you can pull out the airbag and then loosen the central nut that secures the steering wheel. After removing it, detach the plastic covers around the steering column, followed by the trim pieces along the dashboard.

Now, unscrew the bolts that secure the climate control panel and the glove compartment: this will give you access to the heater core located inside the dashboard, which must be properly disconnected and replaced with a new one.
