Audi A4 - Video tutorial

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004
Part: Alternator
Operation: Car alternator replacement

The alternator is one of the most important parts of an automobile's electrical system. It must always be perfectly efficient, as its malfunction could create serious problems for the battery. To replace it requires a certain amount of dexterity. The guide below shows you how. Park the vehicle on a level and safe place, turn off the engine and proceed by disconnecting the battery cable corresponding to the negative pole, in order to avoid the accidental production of sparks. At this point, we identify the alternator and lose a few minutes to memorize the position with respect to the other parts. We immediately see a coil that passes on the pulley to connect to the alternator. We choose the key of the correct size and remove the belt that locks it to the motor body. We unscrew all the screws that secure the alternator, and rotate the coil by loosening the tensioner bolt. The rotation must be minimal, just enough to be able to extract the alternator.
