In this video, see how to replace the airbag in an Audi A1. The system is exactly the same for the A6 and A7: first, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent the airbag from accidentally deploying while handling it. Next, pull the steering wheel towards you and turn it fully to the right to reveal the small hole at the back of the steering wheel, which the YouTuber shows with the help of a mirror.

Insert a small screwdriver into the hole, pushing it in and upwards simultaneously to detach the spring.

Turn it to the other side and repeat the operation with the hole on the left. Disconnect the electrical connector, and at this point, the airbag is removed from its housing.

Remove the steering wheel controls, and if necessary, remove the steering wheel as well. To reassemble everything, proceed in reverse order.
