Replace the battery in the key fob of a BMW 3 Series by following simple steps. Take your key fob and use a screwdriver or plastic pry tool to pry between the two covers of the key (in the joint space of the plastics). Pry until the cover opens, then remove the worn battery with a small screwdriver. Get a new battery of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the cover on your key fob by pressing on the key case until you hear it click into place. Check the proper functioning of the key fob by pressing the buttons.
