How to remove the steering wheel in the BMW 1 Series?

In this tutorial we can see how to disassemble the steering wheel in the BMW 1 Series, an extremely simple and quick operation. First, we open the trunk door, then lift the bottom of the compartment and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Next, we locate the two indicated holes, located on the back of the steering wheel, insert a screwdriver with a flat tip and release the clips securing the airbag. At this point, we can remove the airbag from its housing, unscrew the large central bolt, and remove the steering wheel from the steering column. To install the replacement, simply follow the reverse procedure.
