How to remove the steering wheel on BMW 1 Series

To remove the steering wheel on your BMW 1 Series, you can follow the detailed instructions below. Always remember to disconnect the battery before starting, for safety reasons. Use a small flathead screwdriver and insert it into the two holes on the sides of the steering wheel. Pry to remove the airbag and disconnect the connector. Now you can disconnect the cables inside the steering wheel and unscrew the bolts to completely remove the airbag. Once the airbag is removed, unscrew the screws holding the steering wheel in place. Remove the steering wheel from its position. If you only need to replace certain parts of the steering wheel, you can proceed with removing the parts involved, otherwise, if you are installing a new steering wheel, follow the reverse procedure for installation. If you want to customize the steering wheel, you can apply 3D carbon vinyl on the steering wheel frame to cover any defects or damage on the surface.
