How to remove the plastic cover of the steering wheel to repaint it or give it a "Carbon" effect on BMW 1 Series? This operation is very simple if you follow the various steps. First, insert a medium-length screwdriver into the rear slots on the steering wheel and twist it until you release the clips that secure the airbag. Once the airbag is removed, disconnect the power connectors and take it out of the steering wheel. Unscrew the screws on the plastic cover and remove it. Replace or repaint the previously removed plastic, then refit it onto the car's steering wheel.
