How to Replace the Diesel Particulate Filter on BMW X1

Model: BMW X1 E84 - Years 2009-2015

To replace the diesel particulate filter (DPF) on a BMW X1, safely lift the vehicle and work with the engine cold. Locate the DPF along the exhaust, near the engine. Disconnect the connected sensors, such as the pressure sensor and temperature probes. Remove the bolts securing the filter to the exhaust line and take off any brackets or heat shields. Carefully extract the DPF from its housing. Position the new filter and secure it by properly tightening the bolts. Reconnect all previously disconnected sensors. After installation, perform a reset using electronic diagnostics to allow the control unit to recognize the new filter and ensure the proper functioning of the exhaust system.
