How to Remove the Fuel Pump from a BMW 3 Series

Let's see how to remove and replace the fuel pump in a BMW 3 Series. First, disconnect the battery cables. Then, remove the rear seat from the car. Remove the rear seat cushions; unscrew the retaining nuts from the metal cover and take it off. Wrap the entire perimeter of the sheet metal with paper or absorbent cloth. Next, use a screwdriver to unscrew the large bolt around the pump. Disconnect the power connectors and the fluid circulation hoses. Finally, pull the fuel pump assembly out of the tank. To reassemble, proceed in reverse order.
