How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW 3 Series

To reset the service light on a BMW 3 Series, turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. Wait for the instrument cluster to light up, then press and hold the trip odometer reset button until the maintenance menu appears on the display. Use brief presses of the same button to scroll through the options until you reach the one related to the service to reset. When the desired option appears, press and hold the button again until the confirmation request shows up, then hold it once more to complete the reset. When finished, a message confirming the reset will appear. Turn off the instrument cluster and turn it back on to verify that the service light has been successfully reset.
