How to Change the Front Headlight Bulb on a BMW 1 Series

To change the front headlight bulb on a BMW 1 Series, switch off the vehicle and the lights, then open the bonnet. Locate the rear of the affected headlight unit and remove the corresponding protective cover. On versions equipped with halogen headlights, disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb, release the fastening system, and carefully extract the element from its housing. Insert a new bulb of the same type without touching the glass with your fingers, then secure the clip and reconnect the plug. Replace the rear cover correctly and check the headlight operation. If the F40 1 Series is equipped with full LED headlight units, a standard replacement of a single bulb is not possible; in case of failure, the LED module or the affected headlight unit must be replaced.
