Replacing Brake Rotors and Brake Pads

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001

Remove the brake caliper using a ratchet wrench by unscrewing the two rear bolts. Disassemble the caliper bracket in the same way. Using a wrench, unscrew the two retaining bolts of the rotor while holding it steady. If the rotor is stuck, use a rubber mallet and tap it until it completely comes off the hub. Clean the bracket thoroughly from debris using a deoxidizing spray. Clean the new rotors before installation to remove the protective grease layer. Apply anti-seize compound around the rotor bracket to prevent seizing due to oxidation or rust. Reinstall the rotor, aligning the mounting holes. For securing the bracket and caliper, use new bolts if possible; otherwise, clean and lubricate the old ones. Reposition the piston to the starting position and install the new pads. Reattach the caliper and the wheel.
