In order to remove the motor from the BMW Z4 soft top, you have to act with the hood and parcel shelf completely raised, so that you can take out the four clips that are inside the trunk: two on the right side and two on the left side. At this point it will be necessary to unhook the metal hinge from the parcel shelf, so that it is free, and you will also have to unscrew the two screws located under the knobs. In this situation, it will be necessary to lower the hinge and lift the parcel shelf, so as to be able to access the motor which is located on the left side of the trunk. Once extracted, it can be replaced.
