To remove the convertible top motor on the BMW Z4, you need to have the top and the rear shelf fully raised, so you can access the four clips located inside the trunk: two on the right side and two on the left side. At this point, you will need to detach the metal hinge from the rear shelf to free it, and you will also need to remove the two screws located under the knobs. In this position, lower the hinge and lift the rear shelf to access the motor located on the left side of the trunk. Once extracted, it can be replaced.
