BMW Serie 3 - Video tutorial

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Door panel
Operation: How to disassemble and reassemble the door panel.

Do we want to replace the speakers? Or replace the window lift motor? The video shows us the inside of the door and how to remove and reassemble the door panel. Since the video starts with the panel already removed, we recommend starting at 1:20 when the panel is reattached to the door.

First, we need to unscrew two screws. One is located in the area where the chrome steel handle is housed to open the door, and the other is located slightly lower towards the rear of the door under a small cover. Once the screws are removed, we need to release all the interlocking clips located around the perimeter of the panel. Once it is free, lift it to release it from the small safety locking knob located at the top rear.

Disconnect the handle-arm attachment that leads to the lock, and at this point, if we want to completely remove the panel, we need to disconnect the wires from the speaker at the bottom.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
