In the BMW 3 Series, a manual reset must be performed to remove the brake pad change warning light. To reset, press the Start / Stop button to turn on the instrument panel, but not the engine. We hold down the big button in the lower left corner and wait for the maintenance menu to appear on the display. At this point, release the button and use it to scroll through the menu until you find the section relating to the brake pads.
