To remove the outer door handle of the BMW 3 Series, open the door and move the side seal to access the circular cap near the handle. By removing this cap, you can unscrew the underlying screw: when this screw is loosened, you can detach the door lock by sliding it out from the outside.

Once the lock is removed, you can slide the handle out sideways, inserting a new replacement part. After replacement, you will need to reinsert the lock, securing it with its side screw.
