After performing the service or oil change on your BMW 3 Series E46, you need to manually reset the maintenance light. Here are the steps you need to follow. First, completely turn off the car and locate the button between the fuel gauge and the speedometer. Press and hold it while turning the key to start the instrument cluster. When the word "reset" starts flashing on the display, release the button and then press it twice in quick succession. The reset is complete.
