Camshaft Replacement Instructions

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Engine

Start by lubricating the rocker arm pin seats, then insert the new pins. Next, install the rocker arms and the timing chain tensioner. Generously lubricate the camshaft bearing surfaces and install the camshafts, then attach the mounting brackets and secure them with a torque wrench. Continue by installing the timing sprockets, aligning the chain and the corresponding guide. Use the appropriate references for timing and locking the sprockets on the camshafts: this is a very important and delicate procedure that must be performed with the utmost accuracy.
