How do you replace the convertible top pump on a BMW Z4?

In order to replace the convertible top pump on the BMW Z4, you need to remove the plastic covers that surround it, on the back of the seats and also on the inside of the boot: once these covers have been removed, it will be possible to loosen all the screws and disconnect all connectors that secure the convertible top to its seat. In this way it will be possible to extract the mechanism from its housing and remove the relative activation pump: the new one can now be connected and the whole mechanism can be connected again and then installed appropriately.
