To replace the heater core in a BMW 3 Series, you need to completely disassemble the dashboard: start by loosening the screws that secure the covers around the steering column, then remove the steering wheel and all the trim on the passenger side. Next, pry off the covers of the center tunnel and the center control panel: after removing all these components, you can loosen the support bolts of the heater core and disconnect the hoses. This will allow you to install the new heater core and reassemble the dashboard.
